Morgan entered the program at the half way mark of the 3 month on-line Lap Band support, only months post her Lap Band surgery. She lost 7 kilograms in weight but most importantly stopped dieting and counting calories.

Initially there was another participant who had been accepted into the program. However she pulled out a few weeks alter due to personal issues. Two days later, a client of mine Morgan visited me at the clinic, where I offered Morgan the opportunity to join us for the remaining 7 weeks, which she gladly accepted.

From the chat forum, I have cut and pasted Morgan’s journey thus far with the Lap Band and why she accepted my offer.

Morgans Chat Forum Entry:

So I started out at 145 kgs in March and roughly gaining approximately 10 kilos every year!! When I faced my size and my problem, lap banding was a relatively easy decision and I was banded in July 09 by the Bariatric Centre in Melbourne. I dropped down to 135 kilos after a horrendous 6 weeks of Optifast! Fun Fun. After my band was put in place ( and at least 15-20 fills later) I had no restriction at all, and after a Cat Scan it was discovered my band was unclipped and had a further operation in November 09 to fix it.

By this stage I had settled fairly well into a strict dieting regime, calorie counting for the 5 months straight, and in November for my op I was down to about 121 kilos.

Now that my band is finally working, I am having difficulty finding the correct restriction, and have had a number of fills and unfills. Currently at the weight of 104 kilos.

More so, and the reason why I am needing Helen and now you guys, is that I am struggling with my diet. I have a tendency to fill myself during the day with high calorie foods, instead of decent filling meals. Obviously eating so little with the band- I worry that I’m obviously not getting enough nutrition and eventually my habits will end in me defeating the band. I have a tendency to justify my naughty habits by ensuring my calories are still under 1200. Clearly a legacy of previous dieting.
